Grumpy Dad Sauce Company is a craft hot sauce company based in Winchester, Kentucky. We started as an experiment in 2018 as the company founder grew too many peppers that he wasn’t going to eat himself. We began experimenting with different varieties and flavor combinations, and worked our way through the proper FDA approval channels to be fully licensed just as COVID-19 raised its ugly head. Our first commercial batch was created in 2021, and we have sent sauces to thirty of the fifty states since we first launched. The company founder wants his family to come together for a meal as often as possible, and wants to create that shared experience for his customers as well. Our goal is to provide a unique flavor experience that brings families together over a shared meal experience once again. We are all too busy, and it’s time to take the time to slow down and get to know our own families once again. We want our customers to slow down and enjoy each other’s company, and enjoy our sauces in the process. We are looking forward to the opportunity that this boot camp will provide us. We make hot sauce for people who say they don’t like hot sauce. We source our ingredients locally whenever possible, and are working to create a new relationship with hot sauce for the people of the Commonwealth and beyond. We partner with local producers as often as possible for our ingredients, sourcing our honey, garlic, ginger and peppers from regional suppliers, or growing our own, which is how we started back in 2021. We research the perfect possible pairing for all of our creations, so that you will know what to do with our sauces once you take them home. We have brought nine sauces to market since 2021, ranging from mild to crazy hot.. We are scaling up and looking for partnership in expansion and a better online presence to reach beyond our state’s border. Grumpy Dad Sauce Company had a successful farmers market season in 2023, and will be expanding to more regional markets in 2024. We also have plans to attend out of state festivals to increase brand recognition within the industry and in other areas with a potential distribution relationship. We are currently working in small markets in and around Winchester, Kentucky, and are looking to expand with distribution opportunities coming in 2024 in Maysville, Lexington, Mount Sterling, Paris, and other areas in the BlueGrass Region and beyond. We don’t just create our own sauces, we also partner with other organizations to bring sauces to market. We have created unique flavors for partnerships with small farms and other businesses in Winchester, with plans to expand those relationships further in 2024. We are working with local banks to get financing to expand and approach local co-packers to meet expected demand for the product and festivals that the company founder has lined up in 2024.
