2025 GSE Summer Startup Open Enrollment!

The Governor's School for Entrepreneurs (GSE) Summer Startup program is now accepting applications for summer 2025. Deadline for submission is Tuesday, January 21, 2025.

GSE’s 2025 Summer Startup will be hosted from June 22 through July 13 at the University of Kentucky's Gatton College of Business & Economics. The summer program is a free three-week residential program where high school entrepreneurs from across the state come together on a college campus to create innovative solutions to real world problems. Participants will gain vital entrepreneurial skills, make connections, and transform their lives whether they head to college, start a business, or both. 

All Kentucky 9th, 10th and 11th graders interested in entrepreneurship are encouraged to apply for the Summer Startup program. GSE does not consider grade-point average or test scores in its application, and the program is free for selected students. During the immersive three-week program students will live on campus at the University of Kentucky in Lexington.

Important Dates & Deadlines

• September 27, 2024 - Application Opens
• October - January: Virtual Info Sessions, Register Here
• January 21, 2025 - Application Closes by 11:00 p.m. ET
• January 31, 2025 - Recommendations Due
• April 11, 2025 - Acceptance Notification
• June 22 - July 13: Summer Startup Session is hosted at the University of Kentucky Gatton College of Business & Economics

Entrepreneurs come from all walks of life, and successful entrepreneurial teams require a variety of skills and personalities. All 9th, 10th, and 11th graders in Kentucky are welcome to apply for this free opportunity, and all GSE graduates qualify for millions of dollars in college scholarships.
