Fall 2025 Monday Bootcamp 1.0 - InternHaus

60–70% of college students complete an internship or co-op before graduating. Most have to move to a new city or state, often without family or friends there, making short-term housing a stressful process. In a few words, there's no one-stop shop for interns to find housing. A survey of 100 University of Kentucky students showed they typically use Facebook Marketplace, word of mouth, or Roomster—none of which are easy to navigate or filter for intern-specific options. Once students find leads, they’re taken to external sites with limited lessor info, adding to the stress. InternHaus is an app that connects students nationwide to share and lease apartments/houses/rooms specifically for internships. The app ensures safety by requiring a verified school or work email and background check.

Students can:
● Book stays by filtering for cities near their jobs.
● Lease out their space if going home or studying abroad.

Key Features:
● Exclusivity & Safety: Verified college email sign-up, personal profiles, and roommate
matching by city.
● Integrated Rent & Expense Tools: In-app messaging, bank-linked payments—no
need for third-party apps.
● Community Creation: A “community” tab shows other students interning in the same
city. Personal profiles include interests, and users can connect through messaging
for social activities.

Business Model:
InternHaus runs on an ad-based model with free services for students. Subscriptions or
one-time charges may not be feasible given the target demographic.

End Goal:
Connect students nationwide, offer affordable intern housing, build networks, and improve the overall internship experience.
