EdgeTrack Solutions, LLC is a logistics visibility startup tackling the
rising need for real-time, predictive shipment tracking. Prompted by the 2024
U.S. Port Strike, which led to over $1.6 billion in losses in just three
days, EdgeTrack offers a solution that prevents such costly disruptions. By
integrating edge computing, artificial intelligence (AI), and affordable IoT
hardware, the company delivers a smart, scalable platform for mid-sized
logistics operators and cold-chain distributors to monitor shipments in real
time.
The technical foundation of EdgeTrack lies in its use of Raspberry Pi
5-powered IoT kits. These devices collect GPS, video, and audio data from
shipments and use on-device AI to detect anomalies, such as delays or
tampering. Insights are sent to a cloud-based dashboard that features live
maps and alerts. This setup enables logistics managers to respond proactively
to disruptions. The system also integrates easily with existing ERP and fleet
management software through RESTful APIs, making adoption simple and
cost-effective.
EdgeTrack addresses a market valued at over $3.5 billion in the U.S., driven
by the growing demand for predictive and secure transportation tools. While
larger providers dominate the market, mid-sized 3PLs and regional operators
remain underserved. EdgeTrack fills this gap with a modular, affordable
system that provides enterprise-grade visibility. With a clear focus on 3PLs,
regional freight firms, and pharmaceutical distributors in Kentucky, Ohio,
and Tennessee, the company plans to expand nationally after initial traction.
The team behind EdgeTrack consists of three graduate students in Supply Chain
Management from the University of Kentucky. Drawing on academic training and
industry exposure, the founders built and tested a functional prototype
integrated with AWS and Google Cloud. Their mix of logistics insight and
technical capability has enabled them to move quickly from concept to
pilot-ready product. Their proactive approach and resourcefulness reflect
strong potential for continued innovation and execution.
EdgeTrack is set to begin pilot programs with Valvoline in May 2025. This
engagement will validate its real-world utility and generate initial revenue.
The company forecasts $36,000 in earnings by year-end, supported by hardware
sales, SaaS subscriptions, and consulting services. With a lean monthly burn
rate of $3,200, the business is financially well-positioned to support growth
through its pilot phase.
In conclusion, EdgeTrack Solutions offers a technically sound,
market-validated solution to one of logistics’ most pressing challenges;
real-time visibility and predictive disruption detection. With a committed
team, a working prototype, and a promising go-to-market plan, the company is
prepared to make a meaningful impact in the logistics technology space.
