George Ward leads the University of Kentucky’s economic development activities and oversees UK’s strategic real estate development including development at the Coldstream Research Campus. He is also the President of Kentucky Technology, Inc., a company that assists high-tech entrepreneurs by providing business guidance and real estate assistance. George interacts regularly with state and local economic development professionals and real estate developers to assist as needed in attracting established companies and well-paying jobs to Central Kentucky.
George’s early career was spent in the hospitality industry where he served 18 years as president of H&W Management Company, a hotel development and management company that he co-founded in 1985. George believes much of his career success is due to the entrepreneurial and hospitality philosophies he has practiced whether in his own company, mentoring others, or during the 4 years he spent in state government and his time at UK since 2010.
