A Legacy of Generosity: The Nash Family's Enduring Gift

Lexington, KY (Jan. 2025) - Warren and Janet Nash, longtime residents of Danville, Kentucky, have generously donated over $20,000 to the University of Kentucky’s Von Allmen Center for Entrepreneurship in the Gatton College of Business & Economics.

This significant contribution will support the center’s mission to foster entrepreneurial training and education among UK students, faculty, staff, and entrepreneurs throughout the broader region of Kentucky. The Nash family’s donation will be used to fund various initiatives, including prize money for the Entrepreneurs Bootcamp online Accelerator, future entrepreneurship competitions, and entrepreneurial student-led organizations.

Janet Nash taught in several different elementary schools in the Danville school system, and was highly admired by many generations of students that were in her classroom. She was named “The Bell of the South” and her passion towards education continues to be felt throughout Danville.  Her husband, Warren O. Nash, owned a veterinary practice Nash, Cleveland and Godfrey.

The clinic was founded by Dr. Warren O. Nash in 1959, servicing both large and small animals in Danville and the surrounding areas. Dr. Nash attended the University of Kentucky’s Martin-Gatton College of Agriculture, Food and Environment, where he took classes for his pre-veterinary requirements. He went on to pursue his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Auburn University.

Dr. David Cleveland joined the practice in 1972 and partnered with Dr. Nash to build the clinic in 1974. Dr. Wyatt Godfrey began practicing at the clinic in 1981 following his graduation from the College of Veterinary Medicine at Auburn University. Dr. Nash retired from regular practice in the mid 2000's and Dr. Cleveland retired at the end of 2013.

For over 60 years, the clinic remains dedicated to providing Danville and the surrounding communities with quality veterinary medicine and treating patients and clients with compassionate care and respect.
