He said that while oral care is important, it isn’t what attracted him to the job, but rather the mission behind the merchandise. 25% of each tube sold is donated to homeless veterans, and the company Homeless not Toothless.
“They served in the military so long, they have the resume to go get a job,” Brown said in reference to the veterans Grind helps. “It’s just them becoming comfortable speaking in job interviews as well as, the dental work needed for them, specifically the ones who come home and are homeless, the resources aren’t readily available to them to understand the transition of coming back into the world.”
Although he never served in the military, Brown is very familiar with overcoming adversity.
“I went to the University of Kentucky, and everything was smooth but recently, I’ve actually been diagnosed with a chronic nerve condition,” Brown explained. “So, I actually had to relearn how to, you know, walk and use my hands and so going through that process. Our entire team is full of people that are committed to grinding and working hard.”
Grind recently secured a significant deal with Walmart to sell its products, and share their message with more people, in stores in 49 states, including Kentucky.
You can find Grind’s products in Wal-Marts in Louisville and Richmond here in Kentucky.
