2025 CCTS Conference: VACE 8th Annual Poster Pitch Competition!

The 20th Annual Clinical Center for Translational Science (CCTS) Spring Conference will be held on April 1, 2025 in the Central Bank Center (in-person).  The Von Allmen Center for Entrepreneurship (VACE) in the Gatton College of Business and Economics hosts its 8th annual 1-minute poster pitch competition. This year's conference theme is "Pioneering Pathways: Innovative Trial Design in Translational Science."

Join hundreds of researchers, clinicians, staff, students, and community members to share research and foster collaborations. The CCTS Conference also hosts Research Days for the Colleges of Dentistry, Health Sciences, Medicine, Nursing, Public Health, Institute for Biomedical Informatics, and the Department of Internal Medicine. 

To participate in the pitch competition, all presenters must submit their abstracts online through the CCTS website and register for the conference.

1-Mintute Poster Pitch Overview

All poster pitches will be LIVE and in front of an audience!

All University of Kentucky researches that submit abstracts for the poster sessions are eligible for the Von Allmen Center for Entrepreneurship "60-second Poster Pitch" competition. Space to compete is limited to the first 40 applicants (no wait list). All participants are REQUIRED to attend a 1-hour pitch coaching session via zoom meeting. Only those who sign-up and attend an online coaching session will be officially entered into the competition. 

Zoom coaching sessions will take place during a lunch break and offered on: 

March 25th (Tuesday) from 12:00pm-1:00pm EST
March 27th (Thursday) from 12:00pm-1:00pm EST

The 1-Minute Pitch will be judged by a panel of judges selected by VACE, based on two key criteria below:

  • Clarity of Presentation (60%)
  • Potential to Create New Therapies (40%)

$2,500 in Total Prizes
$1250 for 1st place
$1000 for 2nd place
$750 for 3rd place
$500 Judges Choice Award
