Larry W. Smith has made a career focused on innovation, creating new businesses, making new products, and developing new customers. He has founded 9 companies, enjoyed two public market exits, generated combined peak market value of over $1.5 billion, and survived after flying a big one into the ground.
A computer geek since college, Larry is a certified advertising MadMan; an Internet pioneer who specialized in e-commerce, software development, and advertising/marketing; and an accidental Venture Capitalist and Investment Banker. Larry currently consults in financial technology using Artificial Intelligence (AI), Natural Language Processing (NLP); Semantics and Ontology. His newest business, zeitness.com, a calendar loyalty app, is in MVP testing as of August 2019.
A longtime resident of NYC, Larry came to Lexington in the late 1980’s to work at Jerrico as Director of National Marketing for Long John Silver’s Seafood Shoppes. He also headed marketing and advertising for Jerry’s Family Restaurant and contributed to the development and opening of Florenz Italian Restaurants.
As an alpha Asian dad, Larry is proud to be sending his son William off to St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia for his Junior year (Class of 2021) and Patrick to Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY as a Freshman (Class of 2023).
