Larry W. Smith

Larry is passionately curious, a ridiculous optimist, and a reluctant adult.

His career has focused on innovation, creating new businesses, making new products, and developing new customers.

Larry has been a founder of 9 companies with two public market exits and contributed on over 30 other new products and brands.

- Founder, CEO/President of US Interactive internet professional services and software development company went public August 1999, achieved a peak valuation of $1.5 billion, NASDAQ: USIT

- Co-Founder, President of THCG investment bank, venture capital & incubator, public December 1999, $500M peak valuation, NASDAQ: THCG

- Co-founder, Acting-CEO, Enjewel fine jewelry company, private, $8.5M raised from over 50 manufacturer and retail investors

- Thematix LLC (Business Architecture, Semantics, Ontology), Live Idea (branding/marketing), SirChear.com (custom search), Solatec Aerovest (outdoor safety), BNMP (low-cost video), Zeitness (calendar communication platform).

A computer geek since college, Larry is a certified advertising MadMan having worked at 4 NYC Advertising Agencies, two actually located on Madison Ave. He is currently a Partner at Hancock Branding by Communications (HBxC.io), a full-service Lexington ad agency.

A longtime resident of NYC, Larry first came to Lexington in the late 1980’s to work at Jerrico Inc. as Director of National Marketing for Long John Silver’s Seafood Shoppes. He also headed marketing and advertising for Jerry’s Family Restaurant and contributed to the development and opening of Florenz Italian Restaurants.

Larry is the proud father to William Smith, the Manager of BITE Restaurant in NYC, and Patrick Smith, who will graduate from Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY this fall.
