Laurie Daugherty is well versed in the issues and challenges faced by entrepreneurs, start-ups and small businesses. Laurie has in depth knowledge of contracts and agreements, startup funding deal terms, lean launchpad methodology and entrepreneurial ecosystems in general. She is passionate about helping your company succeed.
For over eight years Laurie implemented and managed economic development initiatives in the state of Kentucky focused on early stage and growth stage technology companies. She was involved at a decision-making level on a number of state funded programs including the Kentucky Enterprise Fund, the Rural Innovation Fund, the Kentucky Innovation Network, and the SBIR/STTR Matching Grant Program. Most notably she was the founding director of the Governor’s School for Entrepreneurs.
A licensed attorney, currently she is of counsel with Montague Law, PLLC. She focuses her practice on the needs of entrepreneurs, startups and small businesses. Laurie has been practicing law for over 25 years. She began her career as a judicial law clerk then worked in big firms in the Washington D.C. area, including Venable, a 600+ member firm, where she represented Marriott International as well as a number of small and mid-size businesses. Laurie graduated with Distinction from the Antonin Scalia Law School at George Mason University. She holds a Bachelors of Business Administration from The College of William and Mary.
